Colin the storyteller provides stories for all ages. He works in schools, museums, at festivals, in village halls, libraries, prisons, universities and bookshops.

For work in schools Colin can tell interactive tales from many cultures involving pupils making sound effects with percussion instruments, their voices, hands etc and occasionally joining in simple dances to enhance the story.  There is action, noise, fun and learning, as stories can often be linked to various areas of the curriculum containing elements of literacy, history, geography and even - in several cases - science and maths! Colin has also given writing workshops in several schools.

Colin, originally from County Down in Ireland, has lived in Scotland, Canada, Jamaica and, of course, England.  He once stayed with the Maya people of Yucatan in Mexico. This has enabled him to create a number of his own stories incorporating aspects of the cultural backgrounds of these diverse places.

As well as running story/workshop sessions in schools and staff training, Colin also provides entertainment for adult audiences.  His "Reflections on Life in the 21st Century" have proved to be very popular.  These humorous observations are accompanied by songs and, of course, stories.  He also gives talks on "The Oral Tradition" and many more stories which are listed on the next page.
